Retaining Walls

Walls designed for the water behind them, not just the weight in front of them.

A retaining wall holds soil and, more importantly, water. Drainage behind the wall, drain gravel with a way out, and a base that sits below the frost line are what keep a wall standing; the block is only the visible part.

We check the height, what sits above the wall — a driveway or a slope pushes much harder than a lawn — and how the whole area drains, then set the base, the batter and the reinforcement the design calls for.

Questions we get about retaining walls

Does a wall need a permit?

Height and location decide that, and the rules vary by county. We tell you what the job requires and build to the plan the jurisdiction asks for.

Why is my wall leaning?

Almost always water: no drainage stone, nowhere for the water to go, or a base that settled. The fix is rebuilding the base and the drainage, not straightening the block.

Block or poured concrete?

Block can be repaired and comes in finished textures; poured is monolithic and goes up faster. The site, the height and the look decide.

How do I get a quote?

Send the details through the contact form or call +1 (470) 559-6251. Tell us the address, what you want done and any photos you already have. We review the job, ask whatever is missing and send a written estimate.
